The Sandleheath Bridge Club was formed over 25 years ago by a group of people who had learned to play on a course provided by Greyfriars in Ringwood.

At the end of the course most of the members expressed a degree of anxiety about joining an established bridge club in the area - They had heard that some players can be very intolerant of people who had recently learned to play.

So we formed our own 'Bridge Club', which offers a warm welcome to people wanting to play a friendly game of bridge one afternoon a week. Not complete beginners, but lifelong 'improvers'! We take it in turns to provide cakes each week, while the cost of tea or coffee is included in the subscription. The room is quite small and we usually only set up 2 or 3 tables with a chicago type movement and scoring. Tea and cakes are provided mid-afternoon. Our bridge sessions have often been described as a tea party where we play bridge. However we do take our bridge play seriously and all attempt to stick to the same conventions playing 4 card majors.

Our venue is The Methodist Chapel Church Hall, Alderholt Road, SP6 1PT where we play every Wednesday afternoon from 2.00pm until 5.00pm. The times change in the winter months to 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
